Vessels carrying solid bulk cargo require the Garbage Record Book Part l & ll. All other vessels need the Garbage Book Part l.

Vessels of all types need an Oil Record Book Part I, for machinery space operations. Oil tankers as defined in MARPOL Annex I additionally need the ORB Part II, for oil cargo operations. ORB I and II are identical books and simply need to be assigned as Part I or II by the users. Recordings for both operational areas in one single book is not permitted. Therefore, an oil tanker must carry two Oil Record Books. The same applies to the German/English Ă–ltagebuch.

Sorry, we do not have those books on offer. Technical Logs for Scrubbers must comply with the NOx Technical Code of MARPOL Annex VI. Such logbooks need to be taylor-made for the specific plant on board of the particular ship. Additionally, the bulk of relevant data is gained from electronic monitoring devices. Therefore, commonly manufacturers of scrubbers supply vessels with their own logs which for every vessel need an individual approval by the flag state administration. A one-size-fits-all-solution is not possible for this purpose.

Under some flags it is compulsory to keep an Official Logbook. Frequently, under those flags the form of this logbook must meet the detailed requirements of the administration. However, in many cases an Official Logbook does not meet the requirements of a Deck- or Bridge Logbook for entries of navigational data, weather etc.. So, under those flags both books are needed. For the Liberian flag the regulations on logbooks are to be found in RLM-108, section 10.296.
